We are actively involved in educating local schools about recycling, giving tours of the facilities and talks in school assemblies. Our successful ‘Feed the Animals’ scheme provides a unique way for children to learn about the importance of recycling by feeding their clothes to our brightly painted animal textile banks, as well as raising awareness of our duty to the environment. Schools receive payment for all textiles collected from their banks which we supply free of charge.
For older students, we run a scheme encouraging students from local colleges and universities using textiles as part of their coursework to visit our depot and source materials that they can use for re-manufacture. They can even use our on-site sewing room and industrial sewing machinery which many of our student visitors find extremely helpful.
